Nice deal on the heads George….. Cost was great too, Less per each than an average glow plug!…..I would think a .15 head is a little more of a rare bird as well…. Nice to have spares for the engines we care about…..

Heck yea good deal on the .15 heads they should clean up nicely ! That plastic Comanche did fly surprisingly good and the only plane Cox made with the Sportsman .. George did you decide what your going to do with the .15 after running ?

Re: Just won a Cox .15 Sportsman
I thought it interesting that Walt Musciano has a plan that shows the Cox .15 Sportsman in his 28 inch wingspan British SE-5 WW1 biplane fighter:
I downloaded this 6 years ago from Outerzone https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=9734 .
Interestingly, it has been marked as an Uncle Willies' plan. Heard he got into trouble on the 'Bay over copyrights or something like that when he put his name on the plans.

Temporarily on hold due to life changes, wife recovering from heart transplant surgery 7 months ago, prepping house for sale, etc.Yabby wrote:hey George, do you reckon you will build a jigger and fly it, or are your build and fly days coming to an end ?
It is not a reference to the Cox Sportsman .15 engine.getback wrote:What is the Short Stack mean on the engine ,per plan ?
It is scale detail depending on model basis. See arrow with "150 HISSO NOSE", which I think means t50 HP Hispano-Suiza engine. This one, you'd model a "dummy" shorter exhaust pipe off the manifold, with exhaust exit pipe tip angled downward. Other engines, "dummy" pipes continue straight back along fuselage side ending past the cockpit.

Life has a way of changing Plans!
George,
Good thoughts a prayers for continued good recovery for your Mrs. We were supposed to sailing the Caribbean, now. But, I had a heart attack, my wife had her worst Crohn's/ Pancreatitus attack in YEARS, then I developed an infection in several bones... ended up back in the hospital for a week on a PICC line for 6 more weeks for some new IV antibiotic! Then we dedicated empty nesters received a 16 year old "daughter" for Halloween! (She's really our niece) she's here for the duration. What a wonderful, crazy year was 2023. We're alive and getting stronger! We have downsized to a 45ft sailboat ! We had to prep and sell our house, too. Still have a storage and a 24ft box trailer chock full of stuff we should get rid of! It'll be worth it, sir. She'll get stronger and you be able to get to and find everything important! (I'm still encouraging myself on that last one!)
I just bought an Olympic .15 off the evilBay. $92. No throttle. Looks as though it is not even broken in, yet.
