TPMS...............

TPMS...............
That pesky little yellow symbol on your dash telling you that there is a problem with one or all of your Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems senders.
Perhaps not a problem for you newer car drivers, but I have had to replace them in both my 2007 Honda CR-V and just today in my 2007 Nissan 350Z. My "new" car a 2015 Honda Accord awaits. Average life expectancy for these is about 10 years so if a reader says that just one is bad it's best to get them all replaced at the same time. So I shopped around, Nissan Dealer charges $225 per sensor, Costco $50. Costco it is. My daughter works there. Nope, not an employee discount. If you need your's replaced I would check them out.
Living out in the sticks as I do Dealerships and shopping is miles away. Luckerly my son lives "in-town" and is close to all those facilities. So yesterday I had him leave his truck here and take the Nissan to the Dealer to get the oil changed----first time since I have owned it and the first time since 2018....a little late perhaps but in that time only driven less than 2000 miles. But, my son yells at me, it's just not the miles it's the time........I know, I know!!!!
So, he sends me this picture......Look Dad, No TPMS light and new oil and filter.
I love that car. Does everything right. One of Wards Automotives 10 best engiines. Drop-top and 6 speed manual.

Its not just the miles!! lol. cracks me up. we know much better, but still do it. yet when one sensor goes you sensibly replace all of the sensors. Its not just the miles.

Re: TPMS...............
It was time to depart from it. I loved my 1999 Chev. S10 base pickup with 5 speed manual and 2.2L 4 cylinder. No TPMS, before its time. I put indicator stem caps, green not showing if tire pressure low, cheap solution that works. Besides, it's 15 inch rims, tires were much cheaper than van and SUV 17 inch, about 1/3rd cost. (I used passenger car tires rated for it.)
No one makes an inexpensive tires car any more. Also loved no oil change due warning, I changed it when I wanted. (About every 5k miles.)
Discount Tire rebuilds the TPMS when time - replace battery and seals. I think they use an aftermarket direct replacement if a TPMS fails, as cost is less than OEM.
Nothing wrong with old tech vehicles.
