Snail type throttle

Snail type throttle
I searched the data base and found nothing about this. I understand it’s called a snail throttle because of its shape. Any information about this ? Thanks as usual. Mark

Re: Snail type throttle
Hello, the acceleration system of this type, in my opinion, is one of Cox's best designs. It is very efficient, it is truly wonderful how the engine works.
These accessories with pieces that should not be missed if you see them out there.
I leave you videos, as well as Kim, some of my experiences.

¡Muy bien! El vuelo de tu avión modelo parecía muy magnífico. El motor Cox tiene mucho poder.

Re: Snail type throttle
I bought a engine from EBay but the seller could not tell me the size of the engine. From the pictures I could see that it was a medallion. I have heard that most 15 Medalion engines are weak right at the base of the cylinder. But I bought it anyway because it was at a good price. I’m thinking that possibly the snail throttle mechanism will strengthen the cylinder because it clamps on the bottom of it which is the weak point. Possibly. Time will tell. Only thing I need for it is a needle valve

Re: Snail type throttle
Another interesting thing is that the throttle mechanism attaches to the needle valve assembly itself. And as it opens and closes it actually rotates the spray bar back and forth. I thought that was odd. Anybody else notice that ?
