Hey, I love that engine mount/pedestal. Does anyone have any idea where I might procure one?Elgatoprerunner wrote:

They pop up on ebay from time to time. Some times they are with engines, some times they are alone.

How is the Texaco .049 motor? Is it compareable to the Venom or Black Widow? Is a NIB worth any money?

The Texaco is a duration engine designed for Texaco events. They are mean't to be used with a large prop to reduce RPM and use less fuel.
It's a dog compared to a venom due to design and even with a 5" prop still wouldn't be a screamer.
A Venom is a performance engine and designed to run 20K+ and is used for mouse racing.
Bottom line is they are worlds apart but, both great engines.

In this case, the engine was flown before the owner knew what it was. Although...... $700 dollar engine or not it was designed to do one thing.
It's really up to the owner.
