[Wanted] Cox RR-1 engine
Hi,
I'm looking for a Cox RR-1 engine... If anyone has one for a good price, it doesn't have to be new in box
Thanks a lot,
Manu

Re: [Wanted] Cox RR-1 engine
Is it the right price for that kind of engine?

Nib's go for around $500, so whatever it's worth to you I suppose.

Pretty sure the Venom is more rare because of the low production runs. The RR1 never had any problems that I know of.

But dont rr1s go for more due to their age.
I am not lucky (rich) enough to own either yet but they are on my list.

Don't know - never seen one for sale. Guess that's a clue as to how rare they are. You see RR1's all the time.

It's true but I like the rr1s better they are lovely.
Re: [Wanted] Cox RR-1 engine
I would do a buy it now and snap it up if I were you... good ones go for upwards of $250, NIBs go for around the $500 mark sometimes more... that one looks a little used but definitely worth $150 if it is all there. ie a runner. If it's a goer it wont last long.

Yeah Manu prices will only go up.
Re: [Wanted] Cox RR-1 engine
Yes, but I'm not ready to spend that much for an engine... The maximum I payed was 50$ for a NIB Tee Dee .010... Another time, maybe

wow you have had some good deals mate.
Re: [Wanted] Cox RR-1 engine
I also bought a .020 Pee Wee NIB for 25$, Babe Bee NIB for 30$ (with a used Pee Wee and Medallion), a nearly new Tee Dee .050 for 70$ (with a Texaco and a Babe Bee pre-E*t*s)
If you want to take a look, you'll find the engines I have here(I've got some of them in duplicate)
Nearly all of them came from modellers in Belgium who sold their collection or had them lying in a box and weren't just using them, I just posted an ad in a belgian aero website, and they contacted me directly, with very low prices or totally free
None came from eBay, except a Baja Bug Car engine for 5 bucks, and two SureStarts I got from Cox International (along with a bunch of parts to repair the used ones)...
That's maybe why I didn't realise how expensive those engines could be
