Re: aungmyatoo's collection
Nice bookshelf your wife has there, I can't imagine why she doesn't embrace those beautiful engines with all her heart.
So why does the Hopper have two needle valves?

I also wonder why thermal hopper has twin needle valves. Got answer from Jsesere as follow:
Re: How much worth "Thermal hopper with Twin needles valve"

-The two speed carburetor was intended to operate control line model engines at two speeds. It replaces the standard carburetor.
The fuel tube going to one of the two needles was connected to a shut off valve, which could be operated by a control line or a timer or some other mechanism.
The engine speed was set with the first needle at it optimum position, the second line was closed at this time. When the second fuel line was opened, additional fuel would be drawn into the carburetor, thus making the mixture rich which subsequently reduces RPM. So this was a rather crude, but simple method to control the engine speed.
In free flight models similar flooding devices are used to rapidly stop the engine within the time allowed by the rules.

Re: aungmyatoo's collection
I like the colour mix of QRC, & it make me keep on buying when I saw this engine on ebay. I have 4 QRCs, 3 in the photos and 1 new in box. After 4th QRC, I have to remind myself to stop buying it:))

Re: aungmyatoo's collection
Funny how QRC stands for Quiet Radio Control, yet it wasn't a RC engine since it didn't have a throttle like Cox's other RC engines.
Re: aungmyatoo's collection
This is used TDRC 05, I got from ebay not very long ago. Came with no spinner, and pretty ugly plyer marked drive plate. The head also not correct. I put on QRC blue spinner and TD driveplate (I have only gold color the correct one must be white), so end up like this.
Today I run this guy and to my surprise, it easily started.

That is one of our newer engines. Looks as if the seller saw the red tank in our listing and ran with the name.
From looking at the picture it definitely looks like a Texaco. Later model with the smaller venturi in the grey backplate and, as you said, 5-fin head.

Re: aungmyatoo's collection
Great collection aungmyatoo!
I love seeing the different ways people display their prizes. I like the way you collected similar engines into a single case, thats a nice idea.
Where do you get the cases?
Tim

We have everything 2$ shop call "Daiso"
It is Japanese brand, but the things they sell are mix of made in Japan, Korea, China, etc.
These are made in Japan display cases. Ofcourse I have to select the case with "Made in Japan" among the mix up.

You can never have too many in my opinion!
