[solved]Cox Parts Interchangability?
As an inexperienced Cox user (I've only owned bog-standard .049s and a Black Widow so far) can I ask all of you experts a few, what will probably be considered silly, questions?
How far are Cox engine parts interchangable? Is it possible to use TD parts, such as cylinders/pistons with the reed valve engines, for instance, could you fit an .051 cylinder to a reed valve .049? I assume not, but I'd be interested to know what IS possible along these lines.

I don't claim any "expert" status...preferring instead, the term "Rabid Enthusiast" !
But yes, you can, only as a set, exchange Tee Dee Cylinder/Piston Sets with a reedie's. It's a good idea to also swap out the crank for a Killer Bee/Diesel version because of the extra RPM's/Stress. I bought a "Black Widow" just this week that arrived with a .051 piston and cylinder...IT SMOKES! My next change, after the gaskets and such, is to install a Diesel Crank from my parts box.
I posted photos of the run in my post: "Bench Running My "Tee Dee Black Widow".

I'm with KIm on it.
While i do not class myself as an expert i am a rather experienced user but most parts are interchangeable.
But yes dont put a .051 piston in a .049 cylinder Matt had experience with that.
