Boy did I ever!

Awesome day today 10mph winds and sunny. I put about 8 tanks through the Ring and was very comfortable with it tonight. Lot's of inverted time and nice big smooth loops and 8's. Maybe next week I will do some outsides. I had lot's of pointers and time to work on perfecting my form. It makes a big difference when you actually fly the plane through manouvers as opposed to just giving full deflection. I am having a lot of fun!!!!!

This 50yr old Ring flies great! Many thanks to Ken for getting me set up. Your tips and tricks make this old bird perform like a champ.

Ron

I'm glad you got some flight time. Does your arm get tired?
This coming weekend will probably be perfect in SC, but I expect Easter will put a cramp in it. Maybe I can round up a companion for Saturday... Hmmm, off to check weather.com now.

It says 68/3mph Sat, and 75/9mph Sun. Sunny both days.

Nah, my arm is good. I was so excited that I didn't think about it. I imagine it would be tough on the shoulder over time as you follow through so much. You gotta get back out Rusty! 1/2A is fun, but boy the biggins fly sweet. So smooth and pretty and so much sky. Plenty of space to fix a screw up lol!

Holy crap!!!! There is still snow on the ground here in Kansas. I even landed in a puddle of half melted snow tonight. Those winds and temps are amazing. Just so you know, 15-20mph are feasable with .35 sized ships. Just don't come out of inverted on the wrong side of the circle as it will grab that big wing and toss your plane in a hurry!!! At least I have confidence that .015 lines can handle a really big jerk.

I wanted to mention that the oil coming out of the old Fox is still grey in color. I am using 10/25 all Castor.

The guys I am flying with said it's normal. I have put 20 or so flights on it and it runs very consistant and performance is constant. I am going to assume all is well.

Ron:

I agree with "the guys".

Relax and enjoy a sweet engine.
