I use cut-off wheels so often.. I usually keep one chucked in my moto-tool, ready to go at a moments notice. I use the thin type that aren't reinforced.. they are brittle and can break very easily. I made a cradle from pipe insulation which protects the wheel when not in use. If your moving things around on your bench, it keeps objects from accidentally hitting the wheel and breaking it.

Dremel cut-off wheel tip Empty Re: Dremel cut-off wheel tip

Great tip...I have two of the Dremel 8220 12vdc and one is always chucked up with a thin cut off wheel also.... over the work bench are cup hooks I hang the moto tools on

However, like you say, laying on the bench they get hit or scooted around and the brittle wheel cracks or breaks.....

On my way to the other shed right now with knife in hand to retrieve a slice of pipe insulation

Thanks for the tip
