Somebody stop me!

Somebody stop me!
Man! I gotta stop. I’m an addict… Any random thing sets me off on a building binge. In this case, it is all Andrew’s fault, the rotten enabler. On the thread where I cleverly hook another new recruit, he brought up the Man-Win Trainer. Since I’ve been on a PeeWee kick, that just set me off. So, may I present my new Min-Win Trainer:
I basically reduced the 24 inch span of the Man-Win to 14 inches, because that seemed about right. I have some coroplast that I got for free waiting for different projects that I used for the fuse. Then I took a helicopter PeeWee and adapted it for plane use. I took an old, broken PeeWee backplate and used it as a drilling template for mounting screws, and then cut down the heli backplate for minimal cross section.
Final weight is 2.5 ounces. A little lighter than I was expecting. I was hoping it’d come out closer to 3.5 or 4 to keep it tight on the lines. What do Y’all think? 25 foot lines?

These would be great for Flash Mob style combat matches. We just show up in some small grass stip, throw down a combat match, and leave FAST.

That'd be awesome! Four or six guys drive up and run out into the middle of a park, three guys fueling up and starting while three guys roll the lines out to the center. Fired up and flying in under a minute. Fly a fast combat round. Lines wound up and packed away again in another minute. A quick, five minute flash fly. You could hit six or seven parks in an afternoon. Imagine the news segments that night.

This thing is TOTALLY a calm wind flyer. At just 2.5 ounces, the wind tosses it up and down. I maidened it today as I had the son to pit for me. The first flight was kinda silly as I had a time getting it to stay level. Any gust crosswise and it wants to balloon. I set out two cameras by the door so I could video the maiden, but I left them there when we walked out the door. So, my son used his phone to get some video. Nothing special for the first flights, just roundy-roundy. Here's the maiden flight after he launches for me:
And the second flight. As you can see, it does an absolutely perfect Figure 9. I set the throws for minimum for the first flights. I'll give it just a hair more throw and see what I can get for agility.
