Carl Goldberg Models...

Carl Goldberg Models...
It has taken me a while to gather these, but today I received a Buster kit, so I now have the big three.
Other than the Skat Rat, I think I have all the CL kits that were available. Well, that's not entirely true, the Li'l Satan was a Brodak.
Anyway, I also lucked out and grabbed a Jetco Shark .15 as well. Lo and behold it had 2 sets of decals

Hey, that's a nice collection. Are you collecting old kits to keep boxed, or planning to build them?
That Shark .15 is cool. I wonder if that's the same size as Kim's.

Nice little collection you have there Ron. The Lil' Jumping Bean you have posted was my second control line model I ever built. Heck, I still have the box.

Goldberg also made a .35 size and 1/2A P-40. You don't see many of those. Don't forget the Voodoo and double Voodoo. The Little Toot in 1/2A is also a cool one.

Thanks guys, not really a collection as I plan to build them. I do want the Voodoo, not so much the Toot or P-40. I forgot about those...
The Shark kit is the same as Kim's and the same as the built one I have.

Re: Carl Goldberg Models...
It looks like the CG Buster model has a built up wing? I just received the SIG version and I'm disappointed that it has a solid wing, but I knew that going in. I will start on it soon, it should build rather fast.
I'm thinking leisurely .09 Enya power or maybe a .15. Enough to do some stunts and keep the dizzy bunnies away.

Yeah, the Shark .15 and Super Ringmaster are my favorite nostalgia planes...gonna try to put some real time on them here shortly, and we'll have the Ringmaster Fly-a-Thon to think about before too long!
Patrick still has his VooDoo kit, and is probably not gonna build it (and I sure ain't gonna build that sucker!), so I could check to see if he might want to sell or trade it. He has his hands full just trying not to crash his .35 Flight Streak, and I'd be afraid to hand-launch it for him anyway.

The SIG Buster is really a Goodyear type racing plane. It may poorly stunt, but was designed to race.
The Goldberg version is a full blown stunter 42' span and over 400sq" it is used for Foxberg racing though.

Re: Carl Goldberg Models...
The Voodoo is a great build. I can honestly say as the pieces were getting glued together the cool factor was just building up inside. I just recently came across one for sale in some classifieds where Riley did indeed respond. Being the designer of the plane he doesn't have one in kit form and wanted one. If I had one, I would be honored to give it to him. My advice to you Kim, buy it, build it, and go have some fun. It flies great in level laps but the hard maneuvers have to persuaded as it bleeds off a lot of speed. I built the extended boom version and powered it with a G-21 Tiger. Ken

Kim,
Still debating if that is the road I want to go down. I really want a Voodoo, and the Jr S kit is a double. The problem is going to be shipping a built plane. It might survive if I leave the booms off. I am sure you will be the one having to glue them on though...

Ken,
The Voodoo is on the list, to be honest I like the Super Satan better. Too bad it was never kitted.

Re: Carl Goldberg Models...
NICE !!Ron what is the plane kit above the Lil jumping bean ?? I cant tell for the glare , I am glad the Shark 15 flew good for you that Vooo- Doo would bee a hand full I am thinking . I think Ken was talking about wanting the Kit to give to the designer that would be very cool it s a shame to have put that much work into something that turns out right and not have the end product

Re: Carl Goldberg Models...
Hey Eric,
That's a Swordsman 18,
Riley Wooten has had his share of Voodoo's I am sure. Thing is he probably built from scratch and never bought one of his own kits.
I would also imagine he wanted to stay competitive so he kept building and designing. He is one heck of a combat flyer.

Ron, I'm going to be flying with Larry Scarinzi next month at the vintage combat festival. I might just be able to provide you with a set of Super Satan prints signed by Larry. The Super Satan had too many pieces which is why and more than likely it was never kitted. Larry's planes are true works of art even as some of them are nearing 50 years old. The dope still to this day looks like it was done recently. Ken
