Cold Turkey in Florida..

Cold Turkey in Florida..
I spent my last too weeks with my wife on vacation in Florida...driving around from Orlando - first to Lake Mary where I met Sig Skyray who already posted a topic on this - then down South to Miami then Key West, back North to Ft lauderdale, Evergaldes, Naples St Pete and Orlando again...magnificent trip, fifteen hundred miles and lots of sun...this is just a beautiful country.
On my last 2 days in Orlando I was overwhelmed by the cold turkey- if I use this term in the right place, not having smelt burnt nitro and castor for the past 2 weeks...with shaking nostrils I checked out the Orlando hobbyshops dealing with nitro stuff, found only 2...Phil's for one, and Archie's for the other..nice guys, I struck a deal with Archie on 2 digi micro-servos and exchanged COX experience - his is rich one from the 70's in Florida, mine is a yearning one behind the Iron Curtain, but this is another boring strory...
Back in Budapest landing yesterday, I re-launched my Lil'Lostneck (aka Roughneck) project...lost it just before my vacation, and could not settle with the hiatus, and by now, Thursday evening here is where I progressed in a single day ( luckily a national holiday here so I could afford a full-day building - from scratch, remembering the details of the Lostneck by heart, using the leftover laser-cut balsa sheet "negatives" from the lost one:
This bird will be even better than the lost one, I fashioned the firewall to accommodate any applicable COX powerplant be it Product Reedie/Bee, TD 020/049/050/051 one can possibly think of.
Despite the haste in the building all dimensions/alignments seem OK for the time being and I will make sure this Cold Turkey R/C will have its maiden flight before next Monday...
What else can an addict do after two weeks spent with absence of his drugs... ?????

Re: Cold Turkey in Florida..
Hahaha. Cold Turkey in Florida! Hilarious Andras.
So you should have visited us in Lake Mary in the middle of your trip rather than the beginning... that would help you with your nitro withdrawal symptoms. Hey, next time bring a stash of Cox fuel with you in a vile to help!
I'm glad you enjoyed driving the state. The Keys and especially the left (west) coast are magnificent! So sorry you lost your great little plane and that special engine, but there are many more memories to be made, and it sounds like that'll be coming up real soon.
Cheers to a happy maidening on your Roughneck RC!

Re: Cold Turkey in Florida..
Greetings! I'm very happy that you had a wonderful vacation but at the same time I'm so sorry you missed one of the crowning jewels of worldwide hobby shop visiting .... the place is called "Graves R/C". Honestly, if a visitor's lower lip doesn't drop and drag the floor when he or she walks in the door .... there's no way that person could be a true modeler!! I've had the pleasure of knowing Bill Graves for quite some time and he, with his sons, has built up a real hobbyist's shopping haven. So, if you ever return (maybe to stay this time ) be sure to put a visit to Grave's R/C on your bucket list!

Thanks Jim,
I was looking up the hobbyshops on my Google map and Here GPS systems while in Orlando, but Graves R/C did not pop up unfortunately. Is that in Orlando or in Titusvile where you live?

He's located in Orlando on Orange Blossom Trail. Here's a link with a video of his incredible operation:
