Early babe bee #5-40 x 1/2" truss head slotted screws
Found some #5-40 x 1/2" long truss head slotted screws on eBay. Hopefully being just .080" longer than the original screws that they don't bottom out in the crankshaft of the early babe bees. I have a bunch that are missing these or they are damaged. Not zinc plated but being SS they wont rust. Every other place that had #5-40 truss head screws they were all Phillips head style.

Nice! You don't see 5x40 screws with truss heads too much. I found a box of 5-40 1/2" slotted round head screws at a local hardware store some years ago. Sadly, the hardware store closed early last year after 81 years. I didn't have any trouble with them bottoming out in any engines.

Nice find, I been trying to pick em up when old Cox screw sets come up on eBay but you don't see many.

Got the screws today and other than the slightly longer length they are hard to tell from the original ones. I tried them in 3 piece piston early babe bees all the way to pre Estes babe bees. None bottomed out with a thin wood zinger prop.
