NFFS Medallion question

NFFS Medallion question
A reputable seller has 4 of them but all with blue spinners, claiming that's how they came (to him).
Has anyone ever heard of this combo?

Re: NFFS Medallion question
Yes, that is the one on eBay that I was referring to. Doug Galbreath has 4 like that. We had at least 8 for sale and have seen a few others listed but always with silver spinners. Judging by the prop-screw, someone changed the spinners.
Re: NFFS Medallion question
Request some more pictures, get a good picture of the engraving. I've never seen any NFFS engines with a blue spinner. Cox did have blue spinners for their QRC engines but I don't recall ever seeing any Cox engine come from the factory with an Allen head screw. I'd contact Bob and see what he says about it.

all: I tried to get a picture of the S/N of the NFFS engine on ebay, but I couldn't read the S/N. He says it is 5048, but it looks like 5822 to me.
ebay Medallion .051 engine mentioned above in my post.
I believe the seller, but I cannot see the cylinder exhaust ports and the serial number clearly. Also I asked him to add the picture with S/N to the description, but he hadn't last time I checked. There are 2 bids at $125.00.
p.s. anyone else notice anything else missing?

Re: NFFS Medallion question
My guess is they are from a personal collection, the owner liked allen head screws and blue spinners.
If Bob verifies them as the real deal then you can use the blue spinner mod as leverage for a better deal.

Re: NFFS Medallion question
For what it is worth Doug Galbreath is a true gentleman that I have done a LOT of business with for combat 1/2a engines. He is one the the top FF go fast engine gurus and is the creator of the Picco P-0 car motor to aero engine conversion
I would not even consider these to NOT be true NFFS engines.... perfect pristine exactly as shipped who knows considering the cap screw and blue spinner...easy enough to put back to screw and silver IMO

Re: NFFS Medallion question
The integrity of the seller is not in question. The question was if these engines were ever provided with blue spinners and I am almost 100% certain that the answer is "no". Whoever had these engines previously must have switched the spinners, something that is easily corrected.
None of the NFFS engines came with blue spinners

None of the original NFFS Medallion .051 engines came with blue spinners, but that doesn't mean the original buyer didn't change the silver spinner to blue at some point.

Re: NFFS Medallion question
Bob is a member here as theaerosmith I think, last active this year so perhaps he will see this and weight in
The curious thing would be some memebr of NFFS asked for the blue spinner and they got sent that way...so perhaps more unique
I do suspect the original owner just had blue spinners and cap socket screws and exhanged on his engines
Either way still collectable and if a ture purest was interested too easy to put back on the redily availabel screw and spinner

Bob B. has been busy lately and will comment when he has time. Many Cox Medallion .051 engines were sold and they were all sold with the silver spinner according to my sources. If the original or subsequent owner decided to change the spinner to blue that was his choice, but none were sold that way.
