Re: glow heads
Ebay, classifieds on the hobby related websites, RC Groups etc.
These are increasingly hard to find at reasonable prices. I usually look for a broken engine and hope that the glow head is good.
Good luck.

Re: glow heads
Drill out a bad head and tap it for 1/4-32 so standard glow plugs can be used (please double check the thread size)

Re: glow heads
Ebay still shows lots of NOS heads available from time to time. If not, and you're not the engineering type, MECOA sell a ready-made head adaptor for a standard plug. (Currently out of stock)

There was some talk here a while back about installing a K&B Stallion .049 glow head on a Testors. Apparently they fit but no-one has really confirmed how they run. Stallion heads are available from MECOA as well.

Re: glow heads
I still fly and run them. The adapter head from mecoa works pretty good with the right plug installed. They are picky about the heat range of the plug. The k&b head fits. The head I bought is a high compression head so I havent tried standard one yet.
