.020 Tee Dee RC with throttle control (build)
Hello,
I would like to build an .020 TD with throttle control.
Information on the forum seems a bit scattered. Could someone point me to a thread, or give me information on where to get started (parts, plans, etc.).
Thanks,
Bob

Re: .020 Tee Dee RC with throttle control (build)
Hello Bob, and WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!
Two websites you can check are:
http://www.exmodelengines.com/
https://coxengines.ca/
Piston/cylinders are the hardest parts to find.
You might have to take your chances on a used
donor engine, but everything else is available.
Throttle cylinder ring is probably the simplest
way to go, but as far as carburation, you should
scour the forum posts via the search option on the
left vertical on this page. I think member 1/2A Nut
has carbed a TeeDee .020. This thread will flesh
out soon and he'll probably chime in.
Again Welcome!

Re: .020 Tee Dee RC with throttle control (build)
If you want to take a slightly different approach-consider a G-Mark 03 humming bird....same nominal size as a TD, comparable power-and already has both a muffler and RC throttle carb as standard. The biggest issue-replacement heads-has now been solved by Greg Kamysck with his aftermarket turbo plug head replacement-and he also does a nice aluminium radial mount if you want to use an internal tank. The downside-you'll probably only find them on Ebay these days. The upside-they handle very well and throttle down to around 5000rpm-which is pretty outstanding for such a small engine.

Re: .020 Tee Dee RC with throttle control (build)
I’ve picked up an .020 Tee Dee which I will run as stock. I’ve revised my thinking and will get a throttled .049 from Cox International. So much simpler!
Thanks, folks!
