Re: Happy Birthday roddie !!!
Good day folks! Thank you! It's just past noontime as I report; there are blizzard-conditions here in N. Smithfield, RI/New England/USA. The winds are a-blowin'... but bird feed-station Zebra was stocked yesterday afternoon.. and I cut-up X2 BIG apples into 8ths.. and placed them where I usually do.
Last night; Lynne, my MOM and I had tix to a show at the nearby Stadium Theater in Woonsocket, RI to see Belinda Davids (TGLOA The Greatest Love of All-Whitney Houston experience) which was phenomenal. Lynne and I had seen her (same venue) just a few years ago. My mom is a lovely 83 years young, and resides in our nearby hometown of Franklin, MA. This show was Mine and Lynne's Christmas gift to her.. and we provided the transportation.
It had just started snowing when we came out of the theater after the show.. (approx. 10:00 pm) at which time we drove mom back home to Franklin. There was another 10 mi. drive for Lynne and I.. home to N. Smithfield. I was driving Lynne's 2015 Chevy AWD Equinox. I'm more used to my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. I'm extra cautious when driving in freezing weather. We were home within a half hour. I noticed that the apple slices I'd put out earlier, had been found by the critters.
Here's photos of just a little while ago at our house.. sorry.. can't fix the pix..
Feed-Station Zebra..

Our two Chevrolets...

Lynne wants me to bake some cookies. I think it's time now.. to do just that! Stay tuned..

Happy Birthday roddie. I know all about slippin' and slidin' around southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Glad you gave you Mom a great time and made it home safe. Bob

Re: Happy Birthday roddie !!!
Thanks SoOoOoOoOoOo much!
Not a day to go out driving the roads in this locale... RI Governor McKee ordered a ban on all except emergency driving. I stayed home and made cookies.. as I said I would..
I always double the batch.. which calls for a pound of butter, X4 eggs 1.5 cups granulated sugar, 1.5 cups of packed brown-sugar, 4.5 cups of flour, 2tsp pure vanilla extract, 2tsp.salt, 2tsp baking soda.. and of course; the "chips". would be X24 oz. of Nestle's semi-sweet morsels... but I opt for X12oz. semi-sweet to X10 oz. pkg. of Reese's peanut butter chips.
The mixer in the background makes it all possible......believe me..

These cookies baked-up really good! I use these old foil sheets which have a pattern for X12 cookies.. and those areas are round and dimpled. They're meant to be disposable.. but like a true U-Control airplane hobbyist.. I've been reusing them for many years..

I baked X6 full sheets of X12 cookies.. and X1 jumbo cookie.. for a total of 73 cookies. Bake-time is 00:11:00 at 375 degrees F. which rounds-out to X90 minutes for the seven sheets used. I clean as I bake.. so as not to leave a mess. It's all part of the experience...

HAPPY MUCH-BELATED BIRTHDAY RODDIE!!!!!
Sorry for the delay...sometimes, I don't see topics that are right in front of me. Hope you survived that Winter Blast in style (looks to be so, what with the cookies!), and are prepared for another lap around the sun.
