Ace RC aerocommander "Shrike"
Just received this kit BNIB from a fellow local flyer over the weekend. It's twin .049 TD powered, 48" span I think. Kit looks good, not overly handsome but, it was free.
Anyone ever built or flown one?
Like Kim and SuperDave said networking brings many give aways to your front door. I may also be receiving some NIB Cox engines from another fellow! Free of course.

All my powered landings will look like his deadsticks! One wheel or the other will touch first.
Good pilot that Bob Hoover. I guess the shrike is more aerobatic than I thought.
Good vid Johnny!

Re: Ace RC aerocommander "Shrike"
I saw him do his Shrike routine and also the Glufstar routine at Reno.
I would love to see pics of your kit & build. A friend built one back in the day. It flew pretty well. I think his had ailerons as I recall. I have a set or two of original Ace wing blanks and some contemporary repros and have thought about building one.
BTW - I love your avitar - I have some Goldberg Satan's on the shelf waiting to be built just as soon as I can get the hobby room in the new house finished. TD .049 powered Lil' and a TD .15 powered Jr. (along with a Super Tigre G21 .35 powered Voodo).

CZ,
I went through the kit briefly and it does have ailerons. Looks to be balsa trailing edge affixed to the foam wing.
As to your Satan models I am in the process of having the Jr. Satan decals reproduced so if your in need of some so you can save your originals let me know.

Re: Ace RC aerocommander "Shrike"
No I didn't, but I did see him fly in OKC in 96. When I went by his static display, he wasn't there, but I did pick up a signed hat
THe back of the hat says "Hoover's Back" after he proved to the FAA that he wasn't too old to do aerobatics.
