I ride an E-bike, with a solar panel, I can get there in 2yrs...
My bike friends have had 'pain in the ass' problems like you.
They out ride me every time... ride, when you can, my friend.

are you sure TD.010/.020 Cox plastic tanks are soft ABS plastic?
I do not think so.
Same plastic as the TD.049 front ends, as far as I know.
Acetone is OK. Does not hurt it.
Toluol is the next level. Use when needed. (do not soak in it )
The rest of Cox plastic planes,
Have been a pain in the ass to repair...
