Wanted Cox medallion 09 piston/liner and conrod please
Hi All,
my first cox was the 09 Medallion and I managed to break the con rod while operating it in my youth. I am now looking to get it up and running again and wondered if anyone here could help me please?
Many thanks form Ireland
Ralph

Hello, what exactly do you need? Parts or directions - start-up instructions?

Re: Wanted Cox medallion 09 piston/liner and conrod please
Ralph, I checked Cox International and USA's Ex Model Engines, no hits. I'd recommend calling both of them. No luck on eBay Ireland, didn't check UK. Nothing on eBay USA either, but something will eventually come up. Stay in touch with us, we may be able to find you something.

Look at this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COX-MEDALLION-09-1-5CC-GLOW-ENGINE-/112495577762?hash=item1a31424aa2:g:1pwAAOSwVJRZeDf1
Comes from next door UK, probably not subject to import duty within the EU (hurry up to buy before the Brexit)
Or this other one, from Italy, again duty free:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COX-MEDALLION-09-control-line-vintage-engine-motore-a-scoppio-VVC-My-229-/253061421690?hash=item3aeba2da7a:g:sPkAAOSwVJhZSCuk
You may also want to consider investing in this.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COX-TEE-DEE-09-VINTAGE-AIRPLANE-ENGINE-NEW-IN-CLEAR-CASE-/282589629393?hash=item41cba78bd1:g:KcwAAOSwyBlZeqe2
Auctions on NIB TD 09 engines end up around 80$ plus shipping plus import duties. Not cheap but worth the money for 1/2A size or a bit larger C/L or R/C plane applications (see my avatar photo to the left, my Cosmic Wind R/C plane has this one with R/C carb in its nose). Even if you just return to modelling after some time, this will cater for your needs for many years. COX addiction sharply rises with time and you bet you will soon spend high dollars within short anyway and will regret having missed such an opportunity that also becomes scarcer with time.
You will sadly recognize that you can make COX 09 noise much sooner if you buy a complete, used engine and break it down to its parts for spares for your old one, or if you invest in a new one, than waiting for finding such a rare component as a 09 piston and cylinder.
Good luck, anyway...

Re: Wanted Cox medallion 09 piston/liner and conrod please
We have a new one that we could sell you. The cylinder is ground on the outside to accommodate a ring-throttle. Part # 2375 and guessing it's for the Medallion 09 RC, in which case it can be used for the regular Medallion as well. Price is $29.95.
Re: Wanted Cox medallion 09 piston/liner and conrod please
Hi Bernie,
is this a part number for a whole assembly? i.e. piston liner and conrod? I cannot find the part on the site, I have typed in # 2375 but to no avail.
Many thanks for replying

OOPS! Not sure why we missed this, sorry
It is a complete assembly with the cylinder and piston; whereas the conrod is embedded into the piston and cannot be removed.
It is not listed; just something we dug up from our little stash of unlisted parts
Re: Wanted Cox medallion 09 piston/liner and conrod please
Hello again everyone, I have been away looking for my piston and liner for my Medallion 09 only to end up with almost a second one and now looking for a backplate and front retaining collar.
Where does this end.
Also on the look out for a cox 7x3.5 prop or two
Thanks again Bernie for looking for me.
