Re: MEMORIAL DAY
Thank you for sharing gents!

- My grandfather WWII / British ARMY
- My father Vietnam / Air Force
- My uncle Vietnam / Marines
Me Gulf War USAF
God bless them and all who died serving their country and it's freedom!
Today I bought me and my son custom cut 1.5" thick T Bone steaks to grill up in their honor.
Monster steaks and beers, my dad loved to BBQ with a cold one in hand, many BBQ pics / 8mm film
with friends and family.

Re: MEMORIAL DAY
This Phred's thread... but it's the CEF Memorial Day thread that I decided to write to.
1st of all; Thank You Frederic, for your service to our country.
2nd; I thought about flying one of my warbirds.. on the 29th...

@fredvon4 initiated this thread so appropriately, but even though only 3 years ago, it is still appropriate to continue in steadfast honor.roddie wrote:This Phred's thread... but it's the CEF Memorial Day thread that I decided to write to. 1st of all; Thank You Frederic, for your service to our country. 2nd; I thought about flying one of my warbirds.. on the 29th...fredvon4 on May 25, 2019 wrote:
And, to honor those who passed on in other conflicts and for their nations as well. as well as those not mentioned. They all did their duties accorded their calling.
I met my wife's two younger brothers who served as security forces for the Philippine Air Force, who also retired, but passed away not long ago. There is almost a universal creed even those fighting for different countries, a soldier (airman, seaman, coast guardman, etc.) understand each other universally.
I hope to not appear disloyal in mentioning this. I see it as the greater community that we have in CEF. I believe András understands, as he has worn a uniform. There is a common fellowship among those who have worn a uniform, and a respect for each other in doing so even though we may be from other parts of the world.

Re: MEMORIAL DAY
Yes George thanks for referring to me too as one international CEF member..part of what I know and respect in camraderie originates from my time I spent with friends I made in the army...and a great part of the rest originates from this forum..I also have relatives I have never met because they died back in WW2, like an uncle on my late mother's side..
I join you all in the respectful celebration of Memorial Day around the world..
