Cox .049 boat engine

Re: Cox .049 boat engine
To throw some fuel on the fire, I remember (I believe) that silicone exhaust set was available from Tower Hobbies back in the 70's as a kit not specifically designed for boats. I ordered the silicone exhaust set, along with the Tarno Carburetor from Tower Hobbies and placed them upon some .049s I had back then. Never ran either of them because life got in the way. On second thought, I ordered a lot from Tower Hobbies back then. Still have some of their full catalogs from way back then.

Me too Doc. I used to run a tab at Tower Hobbies, not so much anymore but I did just receive an order from them.
This one is unique, difficult to tell what is authentic anymore. The glow head is quite different, similar to the type 9 head in Dannels/Sitter but not an exact match. Also the drive washer is grooved.
Think I will just let this one sit.
Your engine on the right....what's the back story on it? The carburetor looks more Enya that Tarno. Did you make the mount?

Bob: Here's some info about the Tarno Carburetor from the site in 2012:
