Re: Little friends
A little silicone spray would make slip right off.
And could you film that for me?

Re: Little friends
I have had strange encounters with deer here over the years.
About seven years ago these two, brother and sister showed up one morning. Fawns from the previous year I think. They showed no fear, walked right up to me to the point where I could touch them.
Got to be a routine, about 10 o'clock each morning they would poke heads in the garage. For the next three years they came back, same place same time about once a month. I would offer apples which they rejected, opting instead to eat the flowers in my flower garden. Last time I saw them both together the buck had a beautiful set of antlers that he would playfully push me around with. I used to grab them and hang on. I have video of this taken by my son.
Last time I saw the Buck he was alone down by the pond. I walked down to say hello, gave him a pat or two then he followed me like a dog back up to the house where he happily munched on my flowers. Never saw him again.

Re: Little friends
My son dispatched a squirrel the other day that was taking apples off one of my trees. He told me one was doing it and I told him to let it be. Well, one apple wasn’t enough for it so he had to go. Don’t get between me and my apple pie!
The plus side is my son has a nice little pelt, on the down side I have to figure out how to cook the thing as my son wants to try squirrel. I am thinking some kind of pot pie.
Too bad about the deer Bob. Very strange for them to even attempt to make human contact like that. I have to wonder if they were raised by people and escaped. Almost unheard of. Might have to start calling you Dr. Bob Dolittle.

Re: Little friends
Ron,
I loved fried Squirrel!
When I was a kid on our farm I kept meat on the table by hunting Squirrel, with my Remington 22.
Unfortunately, my beloved Grandmother never used a cookbook, measure, or timer to cook anything! It was a handful of this, a cup of that, and pinches of seasoning, so I never learned how to cook anything.
Everything she made was delicious, with one exception! I shot a Possum one day and Grandma tried every seasoning she knew how to make, but finally gave up in disgust. We all agreed that Possum was unfit for human consumption. We tried to give it to our dogs, who also turned up their noses!
Anyway, I know someone out there must have a good recipe for fried Squirrel, so if you find one I would sure appreciate a copy.
