Nowadays, the larger aircraft use heaters instead of expanding rubber to remove ice. They have the larger electric power generating capability (APU's). The smaller aircraft still use pneumatic rubber surfaces to break the ice.944_Jim wrote:And all this time I thought de-icers were heaters.
