Newly arrived eBay purchase of Baby Bee .049

Newly arrived eBay purchase of Baby Bee .049
It's a fifties model with new style head, narrow taper nose crankcase, and large NV dial.
The con rod needs re-sintering into the piston but it is too fat to slide into the groove of the Cox factory sintering tool. Any advice? I'm not a machinist and have limited tools/skills.

Take care!
This may be one of the older pistons. The three piece piston. Don't use the tool on this.

Cox piston
Pretty much except that skirt wall is noticably thinner and I can't spot the R/H side on exterior portion of sintering race like in your photo. No telling what kind of cobble job this thing is.

There is a snap ring that holds the rod keeper in place, you can see it better in the first photo.

Mystery Baby Bee
It looks just like yours (except not as nicely polished up) w/o TD tank engraving and has a mesh screen over air intake and MADE IN USA embossed in air updraft chamber. Discoloration on backplate suggests that it was originally supplied on a plastic Ready To Crash plane that had landing gear not clamped to firewall by engine. (or a Proprod car)
Simple single intake port with NON-SPI too.

Mine would not run steady, never got it tuned right, funny I had to flip it backwards to run it forward. Every time I flipped it the right way it ran backwards.

Hard to tune '56 Baby Bee
Have you tried putting silicone fuel line on NV to seal air bleeds out? Other reeds?

I only ran it once, now its a shelf queen with my very old Golden Bee. I always run 25%N 20%C on a 5/3 prop.
Neither have SPI.

My '56 Baby Bee
Got it running a fairly steady 11.4 to 11.5K on 6-3 Cox black nylon despite a bent NV. Easy to handle. About 2.5 min. on a full 5cc tank. It might be a candidate for a Texaco engine. What's the fuel formula for Texaco anyway?
