Stitched Hinges, "Z" Hinges, and Other Old School / New School Tips - Page 2 Empty stitched hinges

Post  Jaspur_x Mon Nov 21, 2011 10:50 pm

Speaking of hinges, yes do NOT use cotton thread on a plane that you expect to use "long term"

my first kit ; the ace littlest stick, age 13, I followed the plans/directions as best as I could.
directions were for thread hinges, I got into moms sewing stuff and soon had threaded hinges and a few needle holes in my fingers Rolling Eyes

Most spectacular crash with this plane: elevator thread hinges tore and the elevator did some dazzling stuff back there for one of lifes slow motion moments when slows down so you can endure every breathtaking second repeatedly; that was the longest tank of fuel ever from a COX Black Widow

Advice: buy quality thread

needd a laugh? I will post a "revisited childhood moment" thread for us all to share our moments in, in the apropriate forums category

ps; now I`m getting hungry guys lol!
