Sick of Firefox. What's your preference?

Sick of Firefox. What's your preference?
I'm sick of Mozilla Firefox. I love the add-ons and compatibility with my security suite. Maybe the security suite interface is what's interfering with it. It's a resource hog, stumbling and jerky even when I just want to scroll through a page. It hesitates when I type in a forum text editor. I had to modify the auto-save interval just to smooth out Youtube from constantly hesitating, but it still does sometimes.
Anyone else have this trouble with the latest versions? What browser do you prefer? I happily used Opera until CEF, and only this forum would not work correctly with it. But I never did feel it was as secure as Firefox, so I switched several years ago. But I'm fed up with FF now.

Are you using FF on a mac?
Edit, the reason I ask as if run on windows it's sluggish. I use Safari on my Iphone 5, as it's the only option.

I'm using Win7. Since I posted I've downloaded Chrome and it seems to be working much better. It integrates Norton Internet Security and I found a Speed Dial for it. So maybe I'll like this better.

Re: Sick of Firefox. What's your preference?
Chrome has always been my browser of choice on Windows, OSX, and iOS.
Re: Sick of Firefox. What's your preference?
So far I like Chrome. I haven't found a setting to warn before closing multiple tabs, but the history will recover it if I do, though it won't recover forum text editor text. I don't know the autosave interval, but I'll figure all that out. Right now I'm busy populating my speed dial. You have to manually load the website logos for most sites. No scripting to have live tiles in the Speed dial, at least not the version I've started with.

Re: Sick of Firefox. What's your preference?
One of the things I like most is that I can instantly close all tabs and kill Chrome, and when I start it up again it picks up exactly where I left off.
Re: Sick of Firefox. What's your preference?
I remember seeing that setting. I may have changed the default, I'll take another look. I like that feature.microflitedude wrote:One of the things I like most is that I can instantly close all tabs and kill Chrome, and when I start it up again it picks up exactly where I left off.
EDIT: I see now, I changed it to open a specific page so it will open to my speed dial. But it's all still available. I think I like it.

Re: Sick of Firefox. What's your preference?
I guess I'm a caveman.. (need an emoticon for that..) but I have a hard time wrapping my head around todays technology. I am a Windows 8.1 user and I use the Internet Explorer that came standard with my Samsung laptop. My wife doesn't like Windows 8... She uses 7 at work.. and at home. She prefers the Firefox browser.
When it comes to web surfing on a "phone"... that's where I draw the line. I know that 95% of the people out there use their mobile phones for the internet... and I feel that it's just too much. It becomes a huge distraction from what's going on around them, which can actually be dangerous.

Re: Sick of Firefox. What's your preference?
It takes me forever to type legibly on a phone. It might take me ten minutes just to type this short message. No back arrows, cursor is a pain to place, forget highlighting a block of text. And I like to post pics and videos. I always think phone users can't see what I want them to.roddie wrote:I guess I'm a caveman.. Re: Sick of Firefox. What's your preference?
Re-reading my previous post this morning, I should add that "mobile" internet is a marvelous tool.. and I'm always impressed by how quickly a user can get info on a query... especially if they can accurately answer a question that I have. It's their constant persistent use that bothers me. Of course for "business" is a different story... and mobile is quite often a necessary tool these days, in that respect.
