Re: .010 size airplanes ?
Eric,
I was planning on making the Dancer for the Travelling Engine! I have the Jan '66 issue of MAN and saw it last year while thumbing through the issue.
No worries though, I can build something else.

Re: .010 size airplanes ?
Thank you Larry,
They are Profi 1/2A pipes you can still buy them here is a close up mounted to a Fuji .050 race car engine.
Static test 27,616 rpm with a APC 4.2 x 4 will do about 30k unloaded 115+ mph 1/2A RC.
I want one for my TD .020 so bought some carbon sock to make my own micro pipe.
Here is a close up of the Profi.

Nice!! Impressive setup .... and its all shiney too ....
I got alot of experience with tuned pipes during my Nitro boat racing days in the 1980's. Getting "up on the pipe" was a thrill .... when you got it .... you had your hands full with a water rocket.

Re: .010 size airplanes ?
I did nitro boats back in the mid 80's to mid 90's we use to polish everything for a chrome look. These lil pipes come unfinished my old boating days had me going to the buffing wheel with a stick of rouge. The upswing of polished metal less chance of hot oil stains. I did TD and Queen Bee powered scale hydro's, riggers and mono's a few tunnels power up to 40 size engines. I have a OS 26 Surpass good for up to 19k and want to do a 26in cracker box with it one day as time allows.

the dancer was my first suggestion... wanted to come up with something different, simple to build but better than a micro Beginner RM for the traveling engine that could bee used with a pee wee engine as well. looking for a design to offer as a kit.
i am still looking and may just resize some other design.

Re: .010 size airplanes ?
That's correct Roger had mention it as I was asking if he was going to make anything for the TE, And from there this thread appeared , Ron as far as I am concerned go ahead and build it and I will find something else now that a lot of options are coming up , I am still up in the air about what to build Ericrogermharris wrote:Cribbs74 wrote:Eric,

Re: .010 size airplanes ?
Rusty a pool cue stick is a great idea good diameter ranges for .010 thru .049's
Ply is the way to go so much more stronger and will eliminate repairs like you would get
with balsa. I make mention in the thread what size thickness I used for the .010/.020.
If a CL plane with a .010 the only way to go is light light and lighter dragging lines takes all the peep out of the wee engine so it needs a simple low drag design.
I plan to go to the local sports store on my next build to surf the isles for a pee wee baseball bat for a TD .15 project with an open cockpit to park a pilot figure.

I would like to see it if you don't mind emailing it to me and I can convert it to jpeg and provide a download link for the pdf

Great, thank you for finding it there. I found it on another site, but did not know how to link it to there, or if I was allowed to link to another site. Anyways, thanks again.
