Question: 1959 Aurora P-47 Thunderbolt - What's it worth?

Question: 1959 Aurora P-47 Thunderbolt - What's it worth?
I purchased a 1959 Aurora P-47 Thunderbolt .049 control line model in an antique store many, many years ago. I was cleaning out the garage and found the box I had stored it in. It is complete and it is in good condition. I have the 4 pages of the book instructions that came with it but they are in pretty rough shape but all 4 pages are there. I also have the handle and the original strings. I cannot find a lot of information on it.
Thanks
Sorry, I am new an cannot figure out how to post pictures.

That's ok, new members can't post pictures for a while after joining. Here's a linc to a "price guide" of models. Scroll down a few pages to Aurora.
http://webpages.charter.net/skylane42/price.html
I can't find it right now, but I think skyline did an update on this list and some of the Highest prices had been lowered .
Could be Priceless to you, if you've kept it this long!!
( p-47 is shown as $150 to $571)
PS: Welcome to the Forum!!

Re: Question: 1959 Aurora P-47 Thunderbolt - What's it worth?
Thank you for the reply and the link to values. I was half considering tossing it out as I thought it had no real value. I think I paid all of $30.00 for it.
I have gotten out of the hobby for quite a while now so I haven't really followed any of how collectable this thing is. Mine only has one broken antennae so it is very complete.
I think I may try my luck on Ebay and see what I can get for it. Thanks Again!!

I'd take the price guide with a grain a salt, sorry it's a rough guide at best.
-The prop on the 'box' P-47 is not correct, looks to have been 'restored'.
- If you have a 'nice' chrome version, it could be worth half again or double!
-Aurora made some pretty nice planes for a short time, but just couldn't compete with Cox, likewise Cox got their butts kicked by Aurora in the slotcar arena.

Re: Question: 1959 Aurora P-47 Thunderbolt - What's it worth?
Aurora made beautiful, very detailed models. I think a NIB P-47 would go well over 600$ after years of watching eBay for vintage nitro toys.
That price guide is like looking at the eclipse, burned my retinas!!

Yep, a mint, NIB would bring that easy.
I think the guide needs some type of grading system, like MECA grades engines. It's one thing to throw out some ebay winning bids, but more info is needed to get a better handle on pricing/value.
