Cox .020 TD drive-plate issue

Cox .020 TD drive-plate issue
We have a buyer who wrote that the hole in our TD 020 drive-plates is too big for the spline on his crank.
We have sold many of these parts and just tested ten of them on two different cranks; they fit tight.
Was there a time where Cox made TD 020 cranks with smaller splines?

Yes, the early TD .020 engines used a smaller spline. I have a TD .020 crank with the small crank spline. I have been looking for a small drive plate for a while now.

Re: Cox .020 TD drive-plate issue
I had one out of 4 assembled that would catch a hair bit, it was a simple solution just back off the cylinder fit the backplate
on and then tighten the cylinder. I did not bother filing down anything the steel will bite the aluminum a hair and it's over.
Just remember to assemble with oil and enjoy the way the O ring snap locks the backplate into position.
