Good evening,

I recently purchased two Space Bugs and noticed a difference in the two air inlet screens/nuts on the backplate. Are there two different styles? and can you tell the year it was built from the inlet screen style? I've seen pictures online with both styles.

The acorn intake screen was phased out sometime in '54, possibly '55. You can also look for case flange/or lack of, small diameter glow head and if case has a bushing.

Yeah I would say it's all original as it has everything you guys mentioned plus the 302 (small thread) glowhead. It came complete with box. The box is a little beat up but can't win them all.
