Cox Engine of The Month
What do i have now??

What do i have now??
Anyone knows what this is? Got this as a birthday present from a friend, a ziplock bag with the engine and a tee dee 010 wrench. It definitely isn't a tee dee 010 based engine, the wrench fits the exhaust slots, but not the glow head. The closest thing i could find is the 'tiger wasp 0.1cc', however all pictures i have seen of that engine show a diesel head, whilst my engine has a glow head. Any clues as to what it is?
Size compared against a 049 glow head and standard glow plugs......
Is that gold signature inlaid with gold?!

Contact Reginald Luycx
He is a prolific engine collector and maybe he can give you some background information
on the engine.
If you can remove the glow head see if a stock TD .010 plug will fit without plugs it would
be a lost cause to even use it as a project engine.
Here is his web site with a portion of his engine collection etc. shared in photos and info.

I'm suspecting it's a Ron Valentine jewel.

Good find Greg, more pics from Reginald of the Italian made Wasp 010:
You can scroll through his photo gallery (41 pages) on RCU, hundreds of engines shown.
Worth saving the link as when you click on the photo you have the option to go to the
thread for written information.

Re: What do i have now??
Definitely a Tiger Wasp-you have a very rare beast there-there were only about 20 or so of them made-and they were made in both diesel and glow variants. My own suspicion is that the crankcase die owes a lot to the Czech Modela CO2 and Czech Jon engines-and might even have derived from the same base unit or perhaps the Czechs did the case castings for Giovanni...
