It would be possible to use a cam style starter spring with that wheel.

Looks pretty much like the old 1/12th scale carpet racer wheels. They had different sponge rubber compounds to choose from.

Hey Ron! How you "doin" bro? ......... Hope all is well with you. Yes.. you obviously remember my posting these flywheels back a while ago. Let's see if we can apply some #'s.. and make sense of it..

The problem with those is that they're rather tricky to mount to a Cox mill...and probably too grippy. There needs to be some slippage at the start or the engine'll stall out before the car's going fast enough for the engine to self-sustain.
