Yes, but watch how much he's having to fight it, each turn needs opposite stick to stop

Ivanhoe, as a early member of SAD, and past grand champion of re-kitting, I would certainly like a copy of the plans for a flying Curtis Pusher. If there is a nominal fee, PM me and I am opent to modest charges

I just did a quick search and found this, I'm sure there others. You might look at cheap bamboo skewers for material...maybe even foam board and R/C electric? http://www.arizonamodels.com/product_info.php/manufacturers_id/13/products_id/49

No problem, and certainly no charge! It may take me a little while to find it, but have it you shall.

Mark and Ivanhoe thanks to both of you gents... This is a project I think can be done in balsa and silk failry easily for 049 CL/ FF or scaled up slightly for 09 or 15 FF/RC. Dang! Not even retired yet and have projects for at least three winters....grin

I once saw an R/C model of a pre-WW1 aircraft, can't think of it's name now, but it was French, very small, and the pilot sat between the wheels hanging under the wing, it had nowhere to hide the R/C gear, (rather like the Curtis) and the builder had it all (sub-miniature gear) hidden inside the pilot figure! VERY ingenious.

Thats funny, I've got a sailboat I started to restore twenty years ago and model airplane projects 2-5 years old...and i'm nowhere near retirement!
P.S. If you do this remember the bamboo skewers idea for struts!

VERY useful things, bamboo skewers, I use them for loads of things where you need strength and lightness, I have them down the fuselage sides of my Lil' Jumpin' Bean to address the well known tendency for the fus. to snap off behind the wing.

As a kid on the Island of Taiwan in the 60s, dad and I built ultra lite rubber powered FF planes with strips of bamboo sheared of the sides of very long cooking chop sticks. The idea of bamboo skewers for struts is perfect use of "on hand" items

Anyway thanks for posting the link

Curtiss "Headless" Pusher
I have this particular model, completed, but too beautiful to have ever been put in the air...
I watched my Father construct it, but it has never flown or even had the engine gassed-up, and has only hung from the ceiling for a half-century, give or take a few years...
I need to find a value of it for insurance purposes, if anyone can please assist...
Thank you in advance...
