Oddball Evil bay score
I got the power head to some kind of Wen Mac helicopter. Preliminary forensic suggest zero run time. This thing has a quirky gas tank set up and I don't see how it won't sling all of its fuel out in flight. Also NV is really different from any Wen Mac NV I've seen. (I am not referring to length of stem bit the need itself)
What's the scoop on this thing and is there any sort of helicopter I might be able to build for it ?

Interesting Doesn't look familiar. I originally thought it might be from the Flying Platform they did, but it's not that. Don't think I've ever seen a Wen Mac helicopter. I can't tell from the pictures how the tank is filled. Certainly a mystery to me.

The instructions on the ebay listing say that you can control it in a circle, stunt, land etc. Anyone know how it's controlled?

Re: Oddball Evil bay score
that's a typo...it's a free flight. The box uses the same printing as the C/L models, apparently nobody thought to change it. However it could also be tethered by tying a string around tank collar.

Inventor of this interesting model is John W. McRoskey. It's patent here:

Thanks everybody for all the archival research work. I guess I'll just clean the exterior of this item up, lube it good, print copies of the archives y'all have provided and box it all up for a time capsule. I got the thing for $14.80 postage incl. from San Francisco. I guess someone was desperate for rent money or something.

The marketing people at Wen Mac sure made some wild-ass claims about this thing and how "anyone" could get it into the air in two minutes and telling dealers to "buy 'em by the gross". When I was in the toy and hobby business, I met all kinds of folks who couldn't even get in out of the rain in under two minutes, kids who could destroy an anvil with a box of toothpicks and dads would take anvils back to the hardware store demanding a refund-- you name it.
