Re: About Bob Violett
I love military jets and each issue read the stories...Violett's name was often in many issues of various model airplane magazines
RIP Sir you brought interest to my mind, and a smile to my face with your crafts.

Re: About Bob Violett
Yes, familiar to me from past publications with an unforgettable last name.
Just finished reading his history, (thanks Levent) interesting as I did not know it. We shared the same time period in the Navy and he flew the A4 Skyhawk and the vari wing F8 Crusader which I always enjoyed seeing land in it's unusual configuration. The A4 "Scooter" was a pilots favorite and a subject of much discussion.
But what caught my eye was of him with his model of the F-80 "Shooting Star." To my eye the "cleanest" aircraft ever built.
