Re: F1-Rocket EVO by Great Planes.
Thus, the union of the semi-wings is finished, placing a strip of Monokote, since the manufacturer does not indicate anything, but I believe it is necessary....

Everything has been to my liking very well .... then time to replace the original screws of the wing mounting.
I like the accessory that I have more, it is a plastic sleeve and screw, this allows the place where the screw works to never wear out and at the same time has a large pressure surface ... in short, I like to personalize the products when I create what is necessary.
As always, improving a product is not criticizing it, it is simply improving its useful life!

Re: F1-Rocket EVO by Great Planes.
and we continue with the tail group ...
here I also want to replace the rear axle wheel ... I like the aluminum rim so let's get to work ... the replacement of the original is a fact!
When placing the tail skate, you must be very careful, because it is necessary that the epoxy and the necessary lubrication grease play with each other, because there is the secret of a good operation, the manual does not indicate doing this operation .
If you want a free running train, you must grease the necessary parts and you will find good results there!

A good solder with tin and copper wire will be better than any manual set stud. There we go!

Re: F1-Rocket EVO by Great Planes.
Well, I am then locating the engine, as I mentioned I will use an O.S. engine for this model. FS .70 4T ...
... looking at the manual, I find that there is an error in the measurement that the manual itself accuses, where it says: 4.5 inches, or 115 mm, it should actually say: 7.5 inches or 190 mm.
If you control the measurement indicated in the instruction manual, you will observe that 115 mm is right on the engine bench itself. Another manufacturer information error.

Re: F1-Rocket EVO by Great Planes.
It seems that the components of this kit are standard and are not exactly appropriate for this fiberglass train, since the fastening screws are not able to hold the train itself to the fuselage, (they thread a couple of turns only), due to that the thickness of the landing gear is thick, so I have to replace the original screws with longer ones.
Here it is difficult to get screws in inches, so I rectify the thread of each embedded nut and take it to a metric measurement of 3 mm.

here another problem, the wheel axle is not long enough for the self-braking nut to take it securely, therefore I also have to modify.
... in short, some undesirable detail stories for a model airplane who does not have the tools or the knowledge to change these important points....

and here we go with the fuel loading socket ...

Re: F1-Rocket EVO by Great Planes.
Hello dear friends, finally today I premiered the F1 Rocket from Great Planes .... truly the model is very fast and lives up to its name.
The flight is firm, very even and always sustained.
I didn't have to touch any settings for an adjustment, everything was perfect from the workshop.
The O.S. .70 takes you wonderfully, faster than you can imagine.
The passes are truly electrifying, as the model commands a certain respect.
The entrances upon landing are like a butter knife, it just slides like a rail !!
Very happy with the result, I hope you enjoy the video

I se that u have To cut Nose cowling for the engine To fit inside i like this modèle à smaler one for 1\2a nitro Would be cool with the new restriction i think i will have to get a valid license to fly such a big plane that's why i think i have to keep it small I miss flying planes so much

Re: F1-Rocket EVO by Great Planes.
Hi David, thank you for your comment and for joining me in this project.
I'm very glad you like it. The model is very good, really very good.
If you fly doing stunts, you assume that it is the real manned in the air, its line looks like the real one.
The manufacturer indicates to use different motors, electric, or glow, inside the glow it indicates, between a .46 2-stroke and a .70 4-stroke, so I used the latter a .70 4-stroke.

Re: F1-Rocket EVO by Great Planes.
Very good job on the F-1 Rocket and it is
To put in the air for the maiden flight and not have to trim or change anything to get the flight characteristics that this plane flies is amazing ! It still gets me the way you fly so close to yourself , looks like only a few feet
Even scares me when it come by screaming and off into the wild blue again ! Excellent ! as always enjoyed the build and the video , Thank You my Friend!!

Re: F1-Rocket EVO by Great Planes.
Thank you my great friend Eric! .... the plane is really a dream, it flies very well and has a very attractive appearance.
Flying close to me, that's true, from a very young age I always made some risky passes, I really like to feel the passage of the plane and I know that there are high risks, but I also know that everything is perfectly adjusted and controlled. . , although "something can go wrong" ... It is also true.
It gives me an incredible feeling when the plane passes so close to me and I even receive the air that it gives off. Now I don't do it that often anymore, but in my younger years I always did, maybe God was always with me too.

Re: F1-Rocket EVO by Great Planes.
Awesome work man glad to see another rocket going! I also have one which is powered by a .55AX and it goes! due to my prop setup I have to use a touch of flaperon to help slow er down since it comes in fast. I'll see if I can post some pics of mine soon! (Bandit)
