Great Plan Resource
Hi All,
Discovered this great resource for free download of plans:
www.outerzone.co.uk
A search by designer or model will find just about anything.
Try the tag matrix function, where you put in parameters
of the type of model you build, 1/2 A typically, and you get
photos of dozens of models. Great for inspiration.
The emphasis is on Old Timer models, magazine and old kit plans.
Credit has to be given to rcgroups ' Old Timer Plans' thread for
the bulk of the resource but Outerzone have put it into to a
user friendly search format.

Re: Great Plan Resource
That is a great site John, I happened upon it about a week or so ago. It does have everything and a lot for 1/2A or smaller. Thanks for putting it out there.

Re: Great Plan Resource
I've been using the site for quite some time -- it is a wonderful resource. As noted, it is an outgrowth from the Vintage and Old Timers Plans thread over in RCG. That thread is now over 570 pages long, so Outerzone has really speeded up the search process and done away with all the thread commentary.
Although the site is dedicated to vintage models, the cutoff date for posting plans is somewhat dictated by copyright laws --- newer copyrighted plans cannot be legally posted in the public domain without permission.

Yes I am sympathetic to the copyright issue but the real benefit I think
is that it saves these old plans for future generations of modellers.
I use the latest version of Adobe Reader, with it's tiling and other
features to download and get much clearer prints than my Tile-And-Print
program.
Would be interested to know what other people are using.

I completely agree. If kits or plans are being actively marketed, certainly the owner/designer should have exclusive rights, but for plans that have been acquired by companies that have no intention of ever kitting the plane or selling the plans, having a repository for interested modelers is appropriate.

PS: I use both Tileprint and Adobe Pro.
