When Everybody Flew with Spark Plugs or Diesels
Seems like I read that Ohlsson & Rice were credited with the first practical application of glow plugs in model engines, but I have yet to find an old ad by them, touting this new form of ignition.
I DID recently get a batch of Model Airplane News magazines from 1947, and so far, only one mention of glow plugs---an ad by Arden in the November issue. I guy had to REALLY want to get a model plane in the air in those days!
Just thought it was a bit interesting.

I have one of those Arden glow plugs, pretty good shape too. Interesting piece of history.
Got a few sparkers too, common types - Vivell's, O&R's, Rogers. Beyond my ability to cope.

The Arden plugs are very durable. One could also rebuild them. I have a fair amount of them and I even have some of the parts to rebuild them. It always amazes me that when I find them in vintage engines, they still work.
