The Day After Meaning?

The Day After Meaning?
What is the meaning of day after? For example today is 7 June. The day after is 8 June or 9 June?
In a forum I wrote that the day after means next day, but a member says it is two days later.

Re: The Day After Meaning?
In Sweden they say ”Dagen efter”, and it means hangover
I have heard and/or read ”day after tomorrow”, which is self explanatory. In a question I have heard ”is the game tomorrow or the day after?”, also meaning the same ”day after tomorrow”. There is a dedicated word for ”day after tomorrow” but I can’t think of it right now.
”Day after” with no reference to any other day is a new one to me.
But then again, I am not a native speaker of the English language

Re: The Day After Meaning?
I would say that each panel means one day. The panel captions are linked with three dots ( ... ), so the ”day after” in this case means the third day, but it is so because of the ”link” to the previous panel (”the following day”) So the third panel describes the situation ”day after the day following the next morning”
Unless, of course, Daily Reporter, the newspaper, has separate morning and afternoon editions, in which case ”the next morning” and ”the following day” would be the same day. Gets kinda complicated
I have read that story, never gave much thought to that part.
I wonder how it was written originally in French?

As an exemplary Belgian, I have all the Tintin albums and much more Tintin related stuff. In the original text it says "encore un jour après" . It is the 3rd day.
