I visited the same store where both of the thimble dromes were at, and the prop rod was still there. So I grabbed it up. And now it’s on the desk with my special pusher

Sounds like you do know what you're doing. All the way up to 17, what a difference a year makes.

Nice Prop Rod, and one I do not have.

I’m going to keep it on display. I think the car has seen some well use, with how used and locked up the engine is.

Is there anything I can use to polish the car up too?

Nice score.
As you did, one can still find a nice condition Prop Rod for a reasonable price. They haven't yet suffered the huge price rises that their for-runners have.
I have two of them, the latest one I got last year. The owner wanted a dozen beer for it. I was happy to give him two dozen for it.

If you require a canopy for it you can get a replacement from Chris Vaughn at.

I have one just like yours that I restored about six years ago. I'm still searching for the segmented chrome strip that runs along the top of the hood scoop. Don't know if there are repros for that or not. Like what has been mentioned in the past, going into this hobby we knew well that it would be tough to get those "unobtainium" parts sometimes.
