NZ here we come.
Here's a warning to my New Zealand cousins ffkiwi & Davenz (and any others lurking out there. I'm on my way! We're running a pretty tight schedule so won't be doing much visiting, although we'll only be touring the lower half of the South Island, probably away from you fellas. First ever visit so still learning the lay of the land.
Wife and two friends are cycling the Otago Trail while I get to tour around (by car) at my leisure to some extent, to meet up with the riders at the end of each day. I'm hoping to check out a few special experiences while we're there. Any advice gratefully received.
Anyway folks, by Thursday I'll be "incommunicado" for a couple of weeks. See you on the other side.
Rod.

Hey Rod, any chance you will get to see the All Blacks play whilst over there? Have a great trip either way.

NZ thoughts
We were there in 1989 partially for astronomy. You will be there at a better time of the year. Drive on the left be especially careful crossing the street as the traffic comes from the other direction. Kettles boil like crazy on 240 volts. Clothes dryers are wimpy on the same supply. Nobody was looking for tips back then. Do NOT drive your rental car on the beach!
And by all means take a look at the southern stars when you are away from city lights and the moon is small or new.

All good here. I'm only hopping across the ditch from AUS so road rules, cars, power, sky, bad habits, are all famiiar to me already.
I'm already a southern hemispherian so all should come naturally to me. Just got to get myself a local SIM for my mobile phone and I'm set.
Already got a couple of cruises, a Steam train ride, airshow and machinery rally lined up. Maybe even a jet boat ride down the Shotover River, if I'm feeling like a thrill-seeker.
Rod.

Pity I'm going to miss this.

Wrong place and wrong time. I doubt I can hang around over there long enough to see this.![Sad](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_sad.gif)

Don't know Kim, but New Zealand seems to have an abundance of "less than common" aircraft, particularly warbirds.
