Sig King Kobra
I just finished this one up. It's way off topic for this forum, but some may be interested, so I thought I would post it.
Very much an "old school" build, just like we did it in the '80's.
Sig King Kobra with an OS .61FSR, Spring Air retracts, Futaba 72mHz radio. 7-3/4 lbs., Covered with Monokote.
Wheels down - err - extended.

Re: Sig King Kobra
Pretty much on topic Duane and another beautifully rendered model. Must have quite a wingspread.

Re: Sig King Kobra
He said it was a OS .61FSR Joe ,, Nice clean looking model Duane , didn't know you flew RC . How do the spring loaded retracts work on the model ? Don't think I have seen or heard of this before

Re: Sig King Kobra
Bob, the wingspan is 58", and area is 700 sq. in. A bit smaller than average for a .60 size plane.
The Thunderbirds scheme is common on these, SIG even sells a decal set for it. Mine is a simplified version, has no USAF markings.
Eric, Spring Air retracts are air up, spring down. Their advantage is that if the system loses pressure for any reason, the gear comes down and locks.
I flew RC exclusively for over 25 years, then was out of the hobby for a time. I got back in flying CL, and now the SIRS club (A great bunch!) has got me flying RC as well.

Really nice bird duaneh….I bet it will track like it’s on rails…. Your Monokote skills are impressive….. .60 size pattern types were our club’s mainstay for a lot of years….. Mine was a Bridi Kaos with Super Tiger .60 Bluehead…No retracts though….Fun times….
