"Crashed model airplanes"
Every now and then I type those words in over on the ebay zone.
With the Crashed Spad winding down, I was looking around for something new ...... err crashed to fool around with.
Came up with this BIN for $45. Fun model. A little foam cement and I'm in busness.
Mark has one that he flys around here in the field. He let me fly it once and I promptly nosed it into asphalt. Rearrainged the electric motor and it's good to go again.

That’s a neat looking little Trojan Bob…. It will be going to a good repair hanger …. Doesn’t look like too much damage, And a good price …..I bet it’s about the same electronics and motor drive as as the one I recently made the spoked wheels for …. About an ounce and a half ready to fly…. Great front yard/small field fliers….

Light as a feather Robert, and super easy to fly. Does all the stuff the big boys do. Four chanels. Tiny LiPo battery, recharge at the field with a battery powered recharger. ebay one does not include a transmitter, but Mark has a couple.
With the Spad almost finished I need another. Bid on this one. Way over-priced, way over-shipped. Nutz to have bid but it's what I do.
Haxmat suit and resperator required. But, it has a Kasun prop.

Beechcraft Staggerwing? It has the early OK .049, they can be real good running engines.

Re: "Crashed model airplanes"
Roberto, when I see a model with those features, I go back to its time of glory, where perhaps its owner had all the illusions at the time of the premiere!...how much history a photo records...
How good Roberto that you rescue them and revive these pieces!
Kim, it is very likely that this is the function of the twisted wire...or perhaps a new owner without knowing too much placed this wire as part of a support to hang it from the ceiling? hahaha ...who knows!

I like the new project Bob, Maybe even a bit more classic with the Cub in it…I agree with Mauricio, Someone’s dream of flight!!….. I bet the twisted wire on the head was “ground “ for an alligator clip because they didn’t have the proper glow head clip …I’d be tempted to leave it for nostalgia….

Re: "Crashed model airplanes"
Twisted wire used for ground most likely. Innovative and nicely done. I have seen brass tube extensions for the glow plug before but not this.
My favorite. Arrived as a glob of baked on castor and epoxy. Got the full treatment. Not exactly factory or was it intended to be. Cheddies/Chellies? gaskets.
Yes, Beechcraft Staggerwing, A Sterling kit most likely but I can't find one. Has all the characteristics but it's missing the fin, another identifier. Looks like it was planked, or at least the silkspan was covered with multiple layers of paint. Two or three days until the auction ends.

Re: "Crashed model airplanes"
Thanks Duane, Scientific...never crossed my mind but it should have. Beam mounted engine threw me off as they are usually radial designed for the Cox BB engines.
Edit: My mistake, the Ok's can be mounted either way. Also must be the same, wheel doors/pants look the same as on Duanes illustration.
Explains a lot of things, solid wings vice "planked" and hollow log fuselage, I love the things, grew up with them.
Got the T-28 Trojan today. A little more beat-up than I anticipated judging from the sellers photos. Shown with my Son's T-28 and accessories. ebay model did not come with a transmitter but with everything else including a charger and a battery pack from a different transmitter. 4 channel, very light and easy to fly.
Will carpenters glue work on foam, or will I have to buy a specialized cement? I think Formular 560 is the same which I already have.
Over $20 shipped:

Formula 560 does work well on foam. Glued the top of the fin and the rudder on as a test. Wing and hoz. stab. and elevator fix next then the wing. Mark says to back it up with Scotch tape. He bound both to his transmitter. All functions work well.
