Surfer_Kris's modified Babe Bee, the first engine he ever owned, is the winner of the March 2012 Cox Engine of the Month!

What, I won?
In that case I have a bonus image from the first flight with the engine, this was taken in the summer of 1982 (give or take one year);

WHen were the majority of the mods done?

The tank fix was done later during the same year, and the muffler in the year after that, as far as I can remember.
I still have the plane too, but I've updated it a little. This is what it now looks like 30 years later;

I think I still have my first plane, maybe one day I will bring it back to life one day.
Re: Cox Engine of the Month Poll - March 2012
Are you wearing cleats? The better to run across the fields chasing the plane.
It's really amazing that you still have your first plane. My first one, a plastic Stuka, was completely destroyed except for the engine. I gave the red fine-thread backplate from it to Jaspur.

It counts the multiple views from a single member. I had to have viewed it around 10 times or so, that adds to the total # of views.

Likewise, though more voting would have been nice.Admin wrote:engine049 wrote:24 votes and over 200 views what a shame.

I noticed the thread does get somewhat burried after
a few days.
