Re: June, 2012 Engine of the Month submissions
I love the looks of the Conquest. Never seen one IRL. Was it actually manufactured by Cox, or for Cox and re-labled?
I hate to have to say, all of my engines look much too utilitarian for a beauty contest.

Woah, I bet that'll make you want to dive under the work table. Those APC props are fffffast and yours looks like it's a bit cut down. The silver carb looks really cool. I like those radial mount backplates too.
I was just about to look up your thread about running on pressure to see what size I need to drill the venturi on my .051 for the new Streak.

With the release of Bernies Extreme.
I thought it only right to hit back with the Turboinjectionnutterb_stard MkII
The eagle eye'd among you will spot the Motorsport .31 actuator, Stage 3 Hybrid GarrettT3 with cutback blades
which when it comes on song drive the APC 16x6W at 255.000 rpm.
It's only run once this Morning but the world started spinning backwards as a result.
This may never be allowed to run again......

Geez Kim, Wonder if you and I are the only ones that still have the old EZ-Just test stands?

I don't know, but this old dog has been with me since the early eighties at least...and is STILL hanging in there ! Of course, it's only gotten truly SERIOUS use in the last 4 years or so of my membership in this forum and the .049 Collectors Group!
The more i use it...the more petrified it gets!

Speaking about stands, I have been watching this one for the last 6 days. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MODEL-ENGINE-TEST-STAND-MOUNT-STEEL-049-1-80-SIZE-BEST-HAVE-EVER-SEEN-/370618594417?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item564a96f471 Shipping is just a little too high and I could do without.

Here is my submission for the month. Thick tapered crankcase custom machined, polished KB crank, KB backplate, brass drive plate, genuine TD #4 cylinder, 5 fin head conversion with insert, red spinner, and grey 5x3 prop.
This is also my tach race entry.

Is it me, or is the artistic quality of photos seem to be really stepped up this month?

admin: why not make your own? it doesn't look that difficult or like you would need any "special" tools. maybe a dremel tool and some scrap aluminum or steel depending on how large the engines were you tested. some scrap steel/aluminum shops even sell the channel aluminum/steel in different sizes and thicknesses of material. wingnuts and steel bolts. it should be easy for the average shop guy. what do you think? happydad.

Looks like a solution to the large cowl/small prop problem.
