I tried my hand at shortening a needle

I tried my hand at shortening a needle
It's not as professional as a Ken Cook job, but I think It'll work. I have only two of the unobtainable Norvel fine thread NVs, and both have been bent. So I had to try something. I ground one down and narrowed the shaft so a 4-40 nut would just fit over the tip. I tinned it and soldered it on with electronics solder.
It's barely short enough.

My collars are for 1/16" wire, too small for that needle. I could buy some bigger ones or bore one out when I do the other needle. And lock it down with a bit of JB Weld. I'm going to make the other one a tad shorter too.
