Hello everybody,
yesterday I bought an 049 Sky Rally ultralight on ebay. It will take a few days until it arrives but now i'm searching for a manual for this model. Does someone has this guide? Or know where I can download it?

On eBay? How did I miss that one? I've been keeping my eye open for one at a decent price for a long time. I had one back in the mid-80's and wish I still had it. The tubing was all bent and messed up, so it wasn't in flying condition. One Saturday evening, I decided I wanted a new plane for the next day, so I took a red Pringle's can, ate the chips, and made a flying Pringle's plane using the wing from the Sky Rallye. A friend who owned a hobby shop saw it fly and asked if he could put it in his shop window. It turned into a big customer draw for him, so when I moved from SC to OR, I let him keep it.

My Sky Rally is also not in the best condition, but I think i can fix it. RC Plane

if you want I can measure every thing as good as possible when the hang glider arrives. I'll disassemble anyway to clean it and to check if everthink still in good conditions.

, they pop up sometimes on Ebay Germany.

In Germany it was a very popular model in the early 90ies, I still remember it in the showroom of my model dealer. today they are quit rare and often damaged.

The .049 Sky Rally arrived today Very Happy

Two of the aluminum tubes are broken, but can easily be replaced. The rest is still in good condition. I'm going to disassemble the aircraft within the next days and clean it and if necessary I replace the broken parts. The motor does not look as he had run a lot. He is in very good conditions. But it's very dirty from the castor oil. But look for yourself:

Could you measure the tubes and take pictures of the assembly without the wing attached? It'd be fun to take some aluminum tube and try to re-create the plane

Looking at the photos, I was interested to see the Dragonfly. Mine came from Cox with a Babe Bee engine.

I picked up a Graupner/Cox Piper Turbo Arrow 3 foamy for cheap on ebay last week. It has a throttle control RC Plane

And also an box of Graupner/ Cox Original Fuel Cans, have already run one Can in my .21 Buggy, the fuel ist still good Very Happy

Mine didn't come with a Dragonfly... Babe Bee or QRC if I recall.

thanks. Yeah, these models are difficult to find. Especially here in Germany.

I haven't done something on the plane in the last time, but this summer the plane has to fly again.
So in the next 4-8 weeks i will work again on the Skyrally to bring it back to the sky !

Do you want a whole Skyrally as a replacement or do you need just a few replacement parts?
Nice engine, too. I think the Dragonfly is only a Cox with a bigger tank. So nothing really special.

Hello everybody,
after a long time without any improvement i decided to rebuild the engine. The spare parts also lay here for a few month.
So after a clean up in an ultrasonic cleaner and some polishing, the engine looks like a new one. Only the plastic tank looks not so good.
In the next few days i will fire up the engine. If the engine runs nice and smooth, i will go further with the Sky-Rally itself.

Well done mate! that looks awesome! it looks like new! I wish my engines looked and stayed like that! (they don't because I run them crash them ) it's all part of the hobby Very Happy

Hello everybody,
today i disassemble the main alu frame. Some tubings are bent or broken. I will make some new ones and replace them. The good ones will be cleaned up.

Also the connectors has to be cleaned up.

After that the airplane can be reassembled with new electric and then i can bring it back to the sky... RC Plane

Hello again,
today i cleaned everything up and start to rebuild the frame.
Some plastic connectors are missing. I thing i have to rebuild the connectors.
I also made an overview of all aluminium pipes and measured everything up. If any more details are needed, just ask me.

Can anyone read the numbers on the tube lengths? I can't read them well enough to replicate.
