McMaster Carr
I just received my Mc Master Carr order filed about 24 hours ago. Fast even by today's standards. $23 well spent when considering multiple trips to the local hobby store. Too bad Lowes and HD don't carry hardware this small.
My last order was about five years ago while living in Florida. I just got tired of using old nuts, washers, and bolts with glue and paint all over them and stripped heads and threads. With 100 pieces in each package I can leave some in each of my "workshops" and not have to travel so much.
I ordered 3/48 X 1/2 & 1" panheads, 2/56 X 1/2 panheads, 4/40 X 1/2 panheads and corresponding nuts and washers. What other common sizes used in our hobby did I miss?

I just ordered 35' soft fuel tubing for combat this summer. The only problem was the double shipped and I had to take one package back to UPS.

That's about it, but I usually buy longer bolts and cut them off with a Dremel to fit. I also order some that aren't threaded all the way to the head for passing through beam mounts and LG axles. Is that called a shoulder bolt... I'm not sure. I mostly get philips and hex heads

#5-40 x 1" machine-screws are nice to have for Cox .049 prop-screws. Like Rusty mentioned.. you can custom-cut them to the length you need.. (good luck finding 5-40's anywhere else locally..)

Fillister-head machine screws are hard to find too.. The link below is to 1" long #2-56's that would replace the 4 tank screws on Cox Golden Bee's/Black Widows (8cc fuel tanks)

Re: McMaster Carr
Like most modelers I order a bit of kit from McMaster- but last year I hit on a very good deal from RTL Fasteners
http://www.rtlfasteners.com/
Get on their e-mail list and wait for the several time a year sales....wink
