Something a little different
Hi guys, Figured that I'd post up an engine that's a tad different from the norm here. Some here may recognize this engine "I know bill will" and some may not. This engine is the YS engines .91ST. This engine is different because not only is it a large RC helicopter engine but the fuel system as well sets it apart from the norm. This engine is equipped with Pressurized mechanical fuel injection.
This system works by pressurizing the fuel tank via a pressure regulator and works quite well as long as you study the instructions well. This engine came out of my old Hirobo Freya X-spec Helicopter that i had back in 05 If I remember correctly. It is destined for my New TSA Infusion 700N pro which is still in kit form as of yet. which i may do a build thread of when I get to it just to be different hehe. Anyway here are some pics of the engine in question;
(Bandit)
Front view showing the high speed NV as well as the Part throttle (Mid range) NV which is the shorter one. The carb is accualy a three needle carb the third NV is in the throttle barrel which controls mixture at idle.
A shot at the Injection unit/regulator.

Sweet. I am real familiar, but never been a big fan. Sacrifices simplicity for more positive fuel flow, something that I never had that big a problem with that much in my nitro helis. Those dinosaurs make some real power though
